Doomsday According to Scientists, NASA vs. Mayan Calendar

The End of The World or Apocalypse in 2012:

Doomsday According to Scientists, NASA vs. Mayan Calendar

There are many perspective regarding the doomsday.

According to science :

Meantime, NASA is trying to scatter fears. Scientists assure the public that December 21, 2012, won't be the end of the world. However, they believe that it will be another winter solstice. NASA predicts a sharp increase in the number of sunspots and sun flares for 2012!
On its web site, NASA scientists dedicated a page to their claim that nothing    will happen to the Earth on December 21, 2012.

'Calendars exist for keeping track of the passage of time, not for predicting the future', convinces Dr. David Morrison, a senior scientist at NASA's Astrobiology Institute. 'The Mayan astronomers were clever, and they developed a very complex calendar. The main point, however, is that calendars, whether contemporary or ancient, cannot predict the future of our planet or warn of things to happen on a specific date such as 2012, and I do not interpret this as a prediction of Armageddon,' says Morrison.
Some archaeologists also assure that the Maya calendar doesn't end in 2012 and the ancients never viewed that year as the time of the end of the world. In other words, it is the end of great calendar cycle in Mayan society.
'The Maya never said the world is going to end, they never said anything bad would happen necessarily, they're just recording this future anniversary on Monument Six,' says David Stuart, a specialist in Mayan epigraphy at the University of Texas at Austin.
The same statement was made Apolinario Chile Pixtun, Guatemalan Mayan elder. He assured there wouldn't be the end of the world in 2012, despite claims about Mayan calendar.

Maya Calendar Predictions of Apocalypse in 2012

As is well known, Mayan civilization made significant discoveries in science, including the use of the zero in mathematics. The Mayan calendar begins around 3114 BC. According to its calculation, the end of the world occurs on December 21, 2012. The supposed end of the world falls on a Friday.
The Mayan calendar was based on the 26,000 year cycle of the Pleiades (a star cluster in the constellation Taurus), but lasted 260 days. December 21, 2012, represents the ends of a large cycle of time.

Proponents of the prediction claim that the Mayans knew about a catastrophic event that would take place at the end of the 12th baktun, or 400-year cycle, on the calendar. December 12, 2012 corresponds to the end of this 12th cycle, when the calendar will read 12.12.12.12.12. Since the Mayans counted in 12s, supporters claim that there can be nothing beyond this setting. Believers think that some kind of geological event will occur on that day, which may bring total destruction to life on earth. Pole shifts and planet collisions are two common theories about what will happen. Some new age predictions claim that humans will not die, but will reach a higher level of consciousness. Critics of the theory think that the calendar will just continue to the 13th baktin, reading 13.0.0.0.0.
Only one Mayan artifact that has been found so far mentions anything about the end of the calendar cycle. This tablet is in poor condition, but it appears to state that the end of the 12th baktin will correspond to the return of Quetzelcoatl, the principle Mayan god. Some proponents of the theory have taken this to mean that 2012 could correspond to the Second Coming of Christ, Armageddon or other apocalyptic events. The theory has become more popular due to recent specials about it that aired on the History Channel.

Islamic Prophecies about End of the World
We can derive a lot of information about historical events and future prophecies from Qur’an as it is the book that reveals many truths about the creation of this world and other natural phenomenon. There are many signs of doomsday stated in Quran and told by Prophet (PBUH) as it was one of the duties of God’s Messenger to unveil the end of the world.
“God is the Knower of the future; He does not permit anyone to unveil such knowledge. Only through the messenger that He chooses does He reveal future and past events” 72:27
Being Muslims we believe that only God has the knowledge of future and he has unveiled few signs through His Messenger (PBUH) through which we can conclude the time of end of this world but still no one ever can judge the exact time.
“The Hour (End of the World) is surely coming; I will keep it almost hidden. For each soul must be paid for its works.” 20:15
End of the World Coded in Quran:
Quran has stated about the culmination of this world as:
“The day will come when this earth will be substituted with a new earth, and also the heavens, and everyone will be brought before GOD, the One, the Supreme.” 14:48
“When the horn is blown once. The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed. That is the day when the inevitable event will come to pass.” 69:13-15
Peoples create Movies regarding doomsday :
On December 21, 2012 four strangers on a journey of faith are drawn to an ancient temple in the heart of Mexico. For the Mayans it is the last recorded day. For NASA scientists it is a cataclysmic polar shift. For the rest of us, it is Doomsday.
The end is nigh in this apocalyptic disaster film that mixes Christian values, Mayan mythology, and scientific theories about polar shifts. When four strangers journey into Mexico in 2012, they are drawn into ancient mysteries that foretell the coming of the End Times. [D-Man2010]

The final day on the Mayan calendar finds four faithful strangers convening at an ancient temple in the heart of Mexico in this apocalyptic thriller starring Cliff De Young and Dale Midkiff. Centuries ago, the Mayans set a date for the end of time: December 21, 2012. Now that date is upon us, and NASA scientists have noted that a catastrophic polar shift is about to occur. Could it be that an ancient Mexican temple holds the key to unlocking the secret that could protect humankind from total extinction?

People write Articles on doomsday :

The movie “2012” continues to roll out new apocalyptic posters and more clips from the movie. The move is directed by Roland Emmerich, the man behind “Independence Day” and “Day After Tomorrow.” The official movie trailer pictures a solar eclipse, rioting at the 2012 London Olympics on Downing Street after the Olympics are suspended, the city of Rio de Janeiro submerged in water while the city’s iconic the Christ the Redeemer statue crumbles, and the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome crashing down as horrified masses look on. And this is just the beginning of earth’s woes on December 21, 2012.
So, what are people expecting to happen? Many are expecting the earth’s poles to shift, a close call or even a collision with the tenth planet in our solar system (Planet X), solar Armageddon as the sunspot cycle goes wild, world-ending tsunamis, eruption of super volcanoes, and possibly even the beginning of a new age of global consciousness and transformation that will usher in a new age of humanity. And all this, simply because the earth and sun will be in galactic alignment with the equator of the Milky Way galaxy.

What will happen on 12/12/12? No one knows. We’ll just have to wait and see.
